The Common Ground Food Forum is a key project of the Common Ground Network<\/em>, which includes over 200 social science and humanities (SSH) researchers and hundreds of agriculture, fisheries, forestry and food systems actors, civic\/community organizations, government, industry organizations, and Indigenous and settler communities.\u00a0<\/p>

The Forum is tied to Common Ground\u2019s objectives of formalizing and coordinating SSH expertise around food systems; forging connections among SSH food systems researchers, other disciplines, and other affected groups in agriculture, fisheries, forestry and food systems; illuminating the social relations that underpin the shift toward \u2018more than\u2019 net-zero in food systems; and directing resources to where they are most needed and most impactful in this newly aligned and coordinated community.\u00a0<\/p>

The Common Ground Food Forum offers an opportunity to work toward these objectives across disciplines, geography, and organizations, representing an important part of our mission.\u00a0<\/p>

Our work is organized into four pillar areas focuses on relations between:\u00a0<\/p>

People and Land\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

Rural and Urban Canada\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

Canada and the World\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

People in\/and the Food System\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

Additionally, we have teams working on the organization of (1) Indigenous Sharing Circles and (2) Evaluation and Indicators. At the Forum, the four pillars are organizing various sessions and meeting to discuss their ongoing work, and they warmly invite anyone interested to connect with them and explore opportunities to get involved. More information on each pillar\u2019s sessions will be added here when the conference program is finalized.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
